Abstract: A one-of-a-kind property with a celebrity pedigree on the western slopes of Colorado is still on the market.

Nestled in the foothills of the rugged Gunnison Range in the Rocky Mountains, the scenic mansion in Crawford, Colorado was originally built in 1994 for the late rock legend Joe Cocker.

The 316-acre estate, known as Mad Dog Ranch, boasts 15 bedrooms, a five-car garage and more than 15,000 square feet of interior space, all idyllically created in the style of an English manor house.

In November 2022, this premier property was first listed on the market. After 300 days on the market, this gorgeous home still needs a buyer. And the $18 million price tag hasn't budged.

The British singer is best known for his cover of the famous song "With a Little Help from My Friends," which was originally written and performed by The Beatles. Cocker rose to fame in 1968 and performed at Woodstock the following year. The Grammy Award-winning artist released about 22 albums during his long career.

After the performance artist's death in 2014, Mad Dog Ranch was sold to its current owners. As a result, the iconic estate has only had two owners.

Dan Dockray, the listing agent, said, "It's a beautiful mountain estate with a blend of English styles. The architect was John D. Kelley and the design is a perfect blend of luxury and comfort, a home away from home."

The spacious estate has plenty of room for guests and entertaining with seven spacious guest suites, 10 full bathrooms and four powder rooms.

Cocker left behind a number of collections, which the buyer will inherit. The property is being sold alongside the late musician's prized artefacts and collectibles, including a historic snooker table that once belonged to King Edward VII.

Dockery said: 'This snooker table has been confirmed as being owned by the British Royal Family. I was told it was a gift from the Queen to Joe. The family also has millions of dollars worth of collectibles and artwork, including Joe's piano and a gold record."

All items will be included in the sale except for the Warhol collection. In addition to the artwork, there is something else to consider: the library.

Dockery says, "There are so many incredible books there. The library is one of my favourite features of the home. And, of course, there's the amazing outdoor patio and pond with a double waterslide and nearby chairs for shade under the oak trees!"

Surrounded by lush national forests, manicured gardens and stables, and 60 acres of irrigated fields, the home offers nearly endless possibilities for the next owner.

Says Dockery, "Blending privacy, mountain living and luxury is what defines this property."

The property is also 25 minutes from the nearest shop, making it a true ranch living experience.

Dockery says, "The caretaker can stock the fridge and arrange private meals. The house was built here to enjoy the extraordinary West Elk Mountains and get away from it all."
