The property sits 1,200 feet above sea level, with the mountains of West Maui as a backdrop.
"There's not another property like this on the island," says agent Josh Jerman of HawaiiLife.com, "and it's perched high up on a mountain." It has a view of the north and south coastline."
The homeowners worked with Nishikawa Architects to build the five-bedroom, five-bathroom home in 2012. Unfortunately, the homeowner's husband passed away before they could move in.
In the decade since, the homeowner has opened the home for many events, including company holiday parties, fundraisers, luncheons, farm tours and school visits.
"The homeowner saw the house as an integral part of the community and [often] invited schoolchildren over for tours and lunches," Germain said.
She's now ready to downsize.
The picturesque property has already been featured in the 2019 reality TV show "Temptation Island" and the 2020 film "Aloha Surf Hotel."
"There is an event coordinator associated with the property who wants to continue this with the next owner," Jerman said." There was no requirement to continue this [hospitality business], but it was an option."
The property has honey-producing beehives and an orchard that includes bananas, limes, grapefruits and papayas. The garden has native plants, and turkeys, peacocks and ducks roam the land.
Germain notes that one of the magnificent features of the house is the jaw-dropping views from any level.
On the first level, the master suite and guest suite are on opposite sides.
The second level has three en-suite bedrooms.
There are three dining areas: two indoors and one outdoors.
Two living rooms allow plenty of space for entertaining.
There is also an outdoor pool.
The property is close to the airport and stores such as Whole Foods and Costco.
