The 408-square-foot vacation home was designed by architect Jeffery Dungan in 2020 as part of Berkshire Hathaway's "Designer Villas" program. The villa is the private residence of Chip Hayes, one of the project's developers.
"Our company, The Retreat by Oakstone, began developing a small residential community in 2019 and the demand has been phenomenal," Hayes said." This property was a concept I came up with years ago, based on some of the best vacations of my childhood."
The goal? To create an ideal vacation destination for my own children.
"The good times we had together," says Hayes, "included hiking, fishing and sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows." It's refreshing to travel together without the kids asking for iPads or cell phones."
The design of the home was inspired by the natural setting of the neighboring 95-acre lake.
The small home features aspen bark siding, cedar shingles and oak hardwood floors. Although there is only one master bedroom, this one-bathroom-only cabin can comfortably accommodate six people thanks to two bunk beds and loft space for guests.
You're sure to sleep well.
"No gas boats are allowed on the lake," says Hayes, "so it's very peaceful and scenic." Hayes says, "The home is stunning and has all the amenities you need, but the focus is not on its size, but on the experience.
These amenities include state-of-the-art appliances (including a washer and dryer), quartz countertops in the kitchen, a Mitsubishi ductless mini-split heating and cooling system, and a tankless water heater.
Best of all, this high-end, compact property comes fully furnished.
The nearly half-acre lot offers generous deck space, access to the community dock, and a built-in fire pit that seats 15.
