"This is one of my favorite homes in the neighborhood," says John Weber, listing agent for Compass RE Texas. He's selling the property for the second time, and he says the property's privacy makes it a great place to live.
The 2,642-square-foot home is listed for $1.25 million. It's right at home in this neighborhood.
"The Urban Reserve was created as a modern residential neighborhood with architectural significance," Weber explains." Each property had to be designed by an architect, have a modern aesthetic, and fit the look and feel of the community ...... No two homes are alike."
The three-bedroom, two-bath home was completed in 2016. It is a single-story home, a design feature that drew interest from buyers, Weber said.
"The house is kind of a C-shaped," Weber says, "with most of the house looking out from large windows to the pool, yard space and patio area." You have a great connection to the outdoors."
The nearly quarter-acre site includes a 40-foot-long swimming pool.
"A lot of times in Dallas," he notes, "you either have a pool or a yard, and you can't have both." This house does have both. You have great entertaining and outdoor space with a large patio and a large grassy area in the back of the yard.
The exterior of the house is Accoya wood, a sustainable but expensive material that gives the house a unique look.
"One of the things people love or hate is the front of the house," Webb-Aknolwede says." It almost feels like a shed or a barn, but that adds to the privacy of the house. It's a private home, and you notice it when you walk in the front door. It's completely different from what you see on the exterior of the house."
The minimalist interior design relies heavily on wood and glass.
"It has this sense of lightness and brightness and openness," Weber says, "rather than the sense of windowless closure that the exterior walls convey." When you walk in, it's the complete opposite."
He reports that the unique atmosphere of the house has sparked a lot of interest.
"It's not often," he says, "that you find a community like this in Dallas that serves the modern enthusiast." If you're looking for French Country, this [house] is not the place for you. You come to this community because you want modern and like the vibe."
