Abstract: A mid-century modern gem designed by Andrew Geller, widely known for his sculptural beach house, has entered the market for $2.7 million.

The recently remodeled "Antler House" in East Hampton, New York, is said to be one of Geller's best works. But it wasn't always so obviously associated with the famed architect.

When the current owners purchased the two-bedroom vacation home in 2014 for $625,000, it was in a state of complete disrepair.

At closing, the seller unexpectedly found the architect's drawings hidden in the ruins of a demolished shed. The rest is the history of the renovation.

"The sellers completely restored the house by referring to Andrew Geller's own original pencil drawings," says listing agent Esteban Gomez." They turned the Antler House into a property for year-round use, giving it modern conveniences and updates."

Completed in 2020, the renovation included an open kitchen, new bathrooms and central heating. The homeowners also replaced all interior walls with new cedar.

The result is a turnkey luxury beach house that feels like it hasn't aged a day since Geller designed it in 1968.

The 1,292-square-foot home is intimately connected to the surrounding forest landscape.

"We love that the deck is right next to the living and dining areas," says Gomez." It's essentially an extension of the living room - large enough to accommodate a dining table, two chaise lounges for sunbathing, a picnic table and a grill.

The site's 1.1 acres and enviable location make it a real option for those seeking a private summer getaway - or even a year-round residence - in the Hamptons.

"The fact that it's just minutes from Louse Point Beach is a huge benefit," Gomez notes." It's the East's best kept secret and the most popular spot in the area.

If that's not enough, this attractive property is just a short drive from Amagansett, East Hampton and some of the area's best farm stands.
